Jason Christensen, 2012

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. My name is Jason Christensen and I would like your vote for Victorville City Council. I want your vote because like you, I want improvements to the city that we call home. I was born and raised in Victorville and have lived here for over 30 years. My family originally moved to the Victor Valley in the early 1960’s and the majority of my family still resides in the High Desert.
After graduating from Victor Valley High School, I joined the US Army to serve our country. I was an Army soldier for over 5 years and was honorably discharged with numerous awarded medals. Upon completion of military service, I returned to California to be closer to family. My family has always been of the utmost importance to me, and being family-oriented is a principle that I have passed on to my own children: Family First.
I have been married to my wife since June of 2008, and we have one son together. I also have two children from a previous marriage; a teen age son and a college daughter that has blessed me with an awesome grandson.
The Victorville that we live in today is not the same Victorville that I grew up in. There is no longer a sense of “community”, a feeling of city pride, or a desire for civic involvement. For the past decade Victorville has been mismanaged by individuals that have not put the best interest of the citizens first. Victorville is now over a half billion dollars in debt, lacking in public safety, being investigated/audited by the Federal Government, and closing down public recreational facilities.
Victorville does not need more “suits” with political or financial aspirations misrepresenting the will of the people. Victorville is a city OF the people; a community of families and businesses with the shared goal of “HOPE”: Happiness / Opportunity / Prosperity / Excellence.
I’m not a “suit”. I’m a real person, a regular citizen that grew up here in Victorville and I deal with the same frustrations as you and your family. I believe we all want better programs for kids, safer & cleaner neighborhoods, more community involvement and justifiable & responsible city spending. I will fight to return Victorville back to these basic principles by instituting improved youth programs, supporting law enforcement to make our neighborhoods safer and introducing outside-the-box thinking to lead the city back on the road to financial responsibility.
